• Miss Bowman's Art Classes:



    Middle School

    7th & 8th Grade Art- These classes are offered to all 7th and 8th graders everyday for a ten week period.

    The classes provide a variety of artmaking processes that also focus on art history, famous artists,

    and a variety of cultures. Students will learn color theory as well as focusing on the elements and principles

    of design.

     

    High School Art

    Drawing- 1st semester- 1/2 credit

    This is an advanced course for students who have completed Studio In Art. Students should have a

    desire to participate in an advanced study in drawing. Students will be involved in an in-depth studio

    experience working with pastels and charcoal, pencil and color pencil, crayon, pen and ink, and marker.

    Painting- 2nd semester- 1/2 credit

    This is an advanced course for students who have completed Studio In Art. Students should have a

    desire to participate in an advanced study in painting. Students will be involved in an in-depth studio

    experience working with a variety of subject matters, painting grounds, and acrylic techniques.

    Portfolio- This class is offered to high school seniors who are planning on majoring in an arts related field

    post-graduation. Students in this class create a portfolio of their artwork for college preparation,

    as well as working on individual higher-level art projects. Students also work on collaborative

    school and community art projects.
