NEWFANE -- Yesterday afternoon the JV Softball team improved their league record to 5-2 with a 21-15 win over Newfane. Barker Raiders had 10 base hits and capitalized on 14 walks throughout the game. Melissa Grosshans scored five runs, Kelsey Blackley scored four, Destinee Hillman scored three, and Brooke Targus and Emily Hollenbaugh each scored two. Caitlyn Mason, Rheanne Levy, Chelsea Stratton, Brooke Bodine and Erika Moeller all scored once.
Defensively, the Raiders were led by Abby Heitzenrater, Hillman, Blackley, Hollenbaugh, Rheanne Levy and Madison Greenwald. Hillman had five strikeouts and picked up the win while Erika Moeller had two strikeouts in relief.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Wedneday when they host Newfane at 4:45.
