Barker Girls Track Team Wins Falcon Invitational
May 15, 2010SANBORN -- On Saturday the Barker Varsity Girls Track team traveled to Niagara Wheatfield to compete in the Falcon Invitational and came home as the invitational champion, beating eight other teams. This is an accomplishment not seen in recent memory for a Barker track team. The Lady Raiders were led by double winners Eliza Dewart in the 100 and 800, and Alexandra Gancasz in the 100 and 400 hurdles. Also taking home first place finishes were Savanna Gancasz in the triple jump, and Bree Sutch, Savanna Gancasz, Alex Gancasz, and Dewart in the 400 meter relay. Helping secure the meet championship with top five finishes were Corina Giannone, Jamie Pryzbyl, Amber Sweeney, Rachel Anderson and Sarah Scott.The next meet will be the Niagara Orleans All-League meet on Wednesday and Thursday at Roy-Hart.
