BARKER -- Barker lost 3-2.5 on Tuesday to Wilson in a close match. Winning for Barker at third doubles were Taylor Gallo and Peter Cantella in three sets. They played their best tennis of the season. At first doubles, Matt Hurtgam and Adrian Reyes won convincingly in two sets. At first singles Derek Fuerch handed the league leading player from Wilson his second loss. Fuerch also gave him his only other loss. Fuerch fought hard and won a third set tie-breaker 7-5 in one of the most exciting matches of the year. Rounding out play were Alex Niethe at second singles, Madeline Klatt at third singles and Travis Wright and Erick Braham at second doubles.
The last match is Monday at Roy-Hart. Niethe and Fuerch will travel to Medina on Wednesday to represent Barker in the league doubles tournament.
